In 2005, the Baltimore Ravens Football organization celebrated its 10th anniversary. As part of this celebration, the Ravens asked Immersion Active to create a special micro-site focused solely on the teamÍs top achievements and moments.
Since the Ravens fans have always played such a vital role in the franchise, the Ravens felt it critical that the 10th Anniversary site both intrigue and reward the fans. The 10th Anniversary site accomplished this in a number of ways.
First fans were asked to nominate their top 10 plays, players, and moments. Once the nominations were complete, fans voted on their top 10 plays, players, and moments from June through August. Then, beginning in September, a new Top 10 moment, play, and player were revealed after each home game.
In addition, throughout the voting stage and the season, fans were asked to submit their own photos, stories, and memories to top 10 categories such as Best Fans, Best Ravens Vehicle, Best Game Day Tradition, and so forth. Each week, fans voted for these Top 10 categories and the winners in each category were not only posted on the site, but received prizes from the Ravens organization.
Additionalwebsite features include dynamic, high-impact flash; high-energy video; on-going user interaction; lead generation; and site sponsor exposure. The design of the site was based on M&T Bank Stadium’s SMARTVISION video boards and the 10th Anniversary logo.
The Ravens drafted Immersion Active as a local firm with a reputation for creating highly interactive web sites. “From day one, Immersion Active has really impressed us with their ability to engage our fans,” said Ross Hollebon, Manager of Internet Services for the Baltimore Ravens.
