Transformation Most Boomers Only Wish For

The New York Times, 9/4/09

Abstract:

During a career as a television producer that spanned two decades and two continents, Marla Ginsburg was admired as much for her sartorial sense as for the high concept international co-productions, like “Highlander” and “La Femme Nikita,” that she developed.

Since July, Ms. Ginsburg has been creative director of FDJ French Dressing, a company in Montreal that sells its women’s apparel in over 2,500 boutiques in Canada and the United States and in 250 stores in 18 countries in Europe.

What might be surprising to other baby boomers struggling to change careers was how seamlessly she made the leap. After all, Ms. Ginsburg is part of a generation in which people seem to always talk about reinventing themselves but seldom seem able to figure out how.
