Immersion Active Brings Insights to Senior Consumer Technology at 2013 CES Silvers Summit
On Jan. 8, Immersion Active President David Weigelt moderated a panel discussion at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) Silvers Summit in Las Vegas. The panel discussion, titled "Groundbreaking Tech: Staying Safe, Social, Mobile and Medicated,” highlighted how inventive devices offer crucial assistance when older adults need it most. Panel speakers included Fred Allegrezza, CEO, Telikin; David Inns, CEO, GreatCall; John Marick, co-founder and CEO, Consumer Cellular, and Erik Sande, Vice President, General Manager, Philips Home Monitoring.
According to Pew Internet and the American Life Project, 82 percent of adults aged 50+ who use the Internet research health and wellness information online. Research has shown that combining telehealth technology and closer patient monitoring can significantly help reduce hospital readmissions. The technology featured at this year’s Silvers Summit will help older adults stay in their homes and live longer, healthier lives.
“The Silvers Summit brings to the forefront the most exciting technology for the 50+ market, and gathers the thought-leaders and innovators who are paving the way to serve older adults and all of our futures.” said Weigelt. “Attendees were certainly inspired by the innovations and I was honored to have the opportunity to participate and bring perspectives to this audience that is hungry to learn how to connect with boomers.”
